Having recently reported on YG Acoustics’ remarkable demonstration of the Sonja loudspeakers at this months Axpona , 2 of YG Acoustics new/updated models at Axpona 2019 were also being aptly displayed.
The updated “Hailey 2.2 ‘s”and the newest and soon to be released addition to the line, Vantage could most definitely be included in the top 6 best manufacturers loudspeakers being presented at this year’s Axpona !
The Hailey 2 has been modeled after the original Sonja (now in 2.2 form) incorporating Sonja’s sonic ideals and aesthetics but geared towards the upper echelon of Audio enthusiasts. The Hailey has become distinguished for its supremely natural yet astonishing sonic performance and has been awarded as such by the majority of critics in the high-end industry.
Designed and developed by YG Acoustics’ Founder and Chief Engineer Yoav Geva, Hailey 2 builds off a great pedigree with YG Acoustics’ breakthrough technological innovations BilletDome and ViseCoil. Quite interestingly, the loudspeaker is designed in three forms; Hailey 2.2 a 3-way passive floorstanding speaker, Hailey 2.1 a 2-way passive compact speaker and Hailey 2R a 2-way passive compact speaker optimized for rear/side-channel (home theater) as well as two-channel (stereo) use.

The patent-pending BilletDome tweeter is YG Acoustics’ most complex mechanical invention to date: a resonance-free soft dome is supported by a stiff, light airframe machined from aluminum billet. The airframe weighs a thousandth of an ounce, but its critical sections are up to 14 times thicker than a typical hard dome, so its structural strength is vastly superior even to domes made of the most exotic hard materials. This remarkable tweeter may reconcile the debate of hard dome versus soft dome, as it combines the best of both worlds!
Hailey 2’s bass crossover uses ViseCoil™inductors, which are CNC-wound in-house, then encased in a vise-like milled structure to eliminate vibration and tighten tolerances. Residual loss is reduced by 24%, and linearity is improved by 60%. The result is better control over the woofer, far greater bass impact, and an easier job for most amplifiers. The speaker is undeniably close or equal in sound quality as the Sonja 2.2! How about them apples!!
YG ACOUSTICS “VANTAGE” UNVEILED
YG Acoustics also unveiled its new Vantage loudspeakers about 3 weeks ago. Vantage is YG’s latest addition to its multi-award-winning product line.
The Vantage incorporates seven key YG Acoustics technologies as seen employed with the Vantage’s siblings, including BilletCore, ForgeCore, and DualCoherent. It is a compact three-way speaker slotted between Carmel 2 and Hailey 2. V However, the Vantage also incorporates seven key technologies, along with the same materials and precision production methods utilized in the flagship, Sonja XV. h
This should result, theoretically, in a transducer that will widen the opportunity for discerning music lovers to enjoy the sonic hallmarks of YG Acoustics industry leading Hailey 2, at a much more accessible price. Could this be the loudspeaker we all have been waiting for? We shall see!
